Yesterday I was discussing the probability of baby arriving on a given date. I realised I was trying to rationalise why this baby would be born soon. Something along the line of: Each day that passes means there are less days for him to be born on, so the probability of him being born tonight was increasing. Therefore he'd be born tonight. Well that didn't happen, maybe tonight...

Anecdotal evidence seems to show that there are a large number of women who are late with their babies, which this graph seems to agree with - 35% of women giving birth on or up to a week after their due date. 5% of women give birth on their due date.
