Joanna finds movies quite difficult to watch, even Us are often too scary for her. We were watching Open Season yesterday, and she found much of that too scary, so cuddled up with us. However it was when Boog said goodbye to his keeper that Joanna's empathy really showed itself. Poor little girl sat there with tears rolling down her face. I have a companion is getting emotionally involved in movies!
We were discussing distances at the dining table and we asked Joanna which was closer, the moon or australia. After a little through she said the moon was closer, as it was nearly bedtime!

Recently Joanna also considered the question of which came first; chicken or egg. It took a while for the reason for the question to sink in, but then declared that God made eggs first and waited for it to hatch.

Sophie has recently decided that caterpillars turn into raccoons before becomign butterflies. And as for the two new cats we've got, after hvaing lost the last two, she announced grandma better not lose these two as "she doesn't want to see any more repeating patterns!"
