The gender stereotypes have well and truly hit our house. Having passed Joanna's 4th birthday, and John's 2nd we have a very different array of toys. John's birthday meant we now have a wide selection of cars, tractors and anything that is mechanical. Joanna requested a princess and knights birthday party, and so we had 5 girls in their princess dresses prancing around our living room. We played a princess version of port and starboard - with actions such as "Swim the moat", "Brush your hair" and "Fight the dragon". Joanna also got blinged up by her godparents, with 4 pairs of high heels and some jewellery, which she loves.
Thankfully Joanna isn't too girly, and will happily play with more boyish toys. Equally thankfully John doesn't show any desire to dress up in Joanna's dresses.
